Co-founder & Board member, Japan Women Journalists Association

She is an experienced journalist at The Asahi Shimbun and a co-founder and board member of the Japan Women Journalists Association (JWJA), leading a network of 90 journalists across 30 media organizations under the mission “Bringing diversity to the newsroom.” Since its launch in November 2024, she has led initiatives including study sessions, international collaboration with women journalists’ groups, and research. In Japan’s still male-dominated media landscape, she works to expand women’s leadership in decision-making and advance gender equality in both media and society.
