JWLI Fellowship 2008
Hazuki Takahashi is a licensed social worker with extensive experience in working with special needs children. Since September 2015, Hazuki has been an in-house social worker with a title of Life Supporter for Children at Wai-Wai Plus, a childcare service center for children with special needs. She also works with children who have mental health and developmental challenges. It is a rewarding job for her to spend time with these children and to be able to watch them grow into independent individuals, simultaneously learning a lot from them. Previously, Hazuki was with Minna-Issyo, working closely with children in a similar capacity. Minna-Issyo is an organization that provides services to adults and children with mental health issues who live in group homes. Combining her knowledge from JWLI and her expertise as a social worker, Hazuki hopes to continue working with children with special needs by helping them become productive members of society, and to ensure they have bright futures.
