NPO法人ウィーズの理事長。ウィーズは、虐待やマルトリートメント、両親の離婚や再婚による問題など、家庭の問題に苦しむ子どもや若者を支援する団体である。子どものときに家庭の問題を目の当たりにした経験を生かし、8年間で約9,000名の子どもや青少年に手を差し伸べ、力を与えるようウィーズをリードしてきた。それはオンライン相談、生活支援、両親の離婚後の面会交流支援などを通じて実現している。2022年にはCCJAの大賞を授与された。

Ayumi Mitsumoto is the founder and the director of Weeds, a nonprofit based in the Chiba Prefecture city of Funabashi. Weeds is a leading organization in supporting children and youth who suffer from family issues such as abuse, maltreatment and problems resulting from their parents’ divorce or remarriage. Bringing her experience as a child who was a witness of issues in her own family, over 8 years Ayumi led Weeds in reaching out and empowering around 9000 children and youth. This was accomplished via online consultation, livelihood support and support ensuring visitation. Ayumi was awarded the CCJA in 2022.
